No! You do not have to go to the hospital as these services are rendered as an outpatient modality in our clinic locations to improve pain and overall function.
What is Regenerative Medicine?
As a discipline, regenerative medicine combines principles of biology and engineering to develop therapies for diseases characterized by cell depletion, lost tissue, or damaged organs. The broad aim of regenerative medicine is to engineer, regenerate, or replace tissue using natural growth and repair mechanisms. At Holistiq Spine & Orthopaedic Clinic, we offer state of the art treatments including PRP therapy, Stem Cell therapy, and Shockwave therapy.
What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy?
A revolutionary treatment that utilizes the healing properties of your own blood to stimulate the healing process. This cutting-edge technique harnesses the power of platelets, a component of your blood responsible for clotting and tissue repair, to promote healing in damaged tissues.
How does PRP therapy work?
During a PRP therapy session, a small sample of your blood is drawn and processed to isolate platelet-rich plasma. This concentrated solution is then injected directly into the affected area, where it works to accelerate and restart the body’s natural healing processes.
What type of conditions PRP therapy can treat?
PRP therapy has been shown to be effective in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
- Osteoarthritis
- Tendon injuries (such as tennis elbow or achilles tendonitis)
- Ligament injuries (such as ACL tears)
- Muscle strains and tears
- Joint pain
- Sport injuries
What is Stem Cell therapy?
It is a treatment that utilizes the body’s natural healing mechanisms to alleviate pain and promote tissue regeneration. These powerful cells are then strategically injected into the affected area, where they reduce inflammation, repair damaged tissues, and restore function.
What are the advantages of Stem Cell therapy?
Natural Healing, Tissue Regeneration, and Minimal Downtime. Regenerative Medicine may help in treating pain within the spine, tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints.
- Stem cell therapy harnesses the body’s innate healing abilities, promoting natural and long-lasting relief without the need for pharmaceutical interventions.
- By stimulating the regeneration of damaged tissues, stem cell therapy not only relieves pain but also improves mobility and overall function.
- Unlike invasive surgeries, stem cell therapy is minimally invasive and requires little to no downtime, allowing you to return to your daily activities sooner.
What type of stem cells are used?
Stem cells are harvested from your own body! We will extract the marrow and stem cells from your pelvic bone.
What is Shockwave therapy?
Shockwave therapy is an advanced non-invasive treatment for a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. This technology is based on a unique set of pressure waves that stimulates the metabolism, enhances blood circulation and accelerates the healing process.
What disorders can Shockwave therapy treat?
Acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain and/or pain that significantly impairs mobility or quality of life.
- Neck
- Shoulder
- Back & Chest
- Upper Extremity
- Lower Extremity
- Foot & Ankle
- Myofascial Trigger Points
Who performs the Regenerative Medicine procedures?
Our board-certified physicians perform the regenerative medicine procedures. Rest assured, you’re in good hands!
Does insurance cover my procedure? How do I find out what my estimated responsibility is?
Most insurances do not cover regenerative medicine therapy at this time. Schedule an appointment with our physician today to learn about the best treatment option for you! Our team is more than happy to further discuss regenerative medicine, recommended procedure(s), cost and financing options with you.
How much will the procedure cost me?
The cost of regenerative medicine therapy is based on the type of procedure. At Holistiq Spine & Orthopaedic Clinic, we only use high-quality and top-of-the-line products!
How many treatments do I need?
Every condition and treatment is individualized. Our physicians will discuss the best personalized treatment plan with you at your initial consultation! Many patients see real benefits and instant relief after as few as ONE treatment!
What is my recovery time?
This varies for everyone! However, most patients may experience mild soreness at the injected area for 24-48 hours and then gradually return to home activities, and within weeks, return to sport-like activities. After the regenerative medicine procedure, our team will discuss post-care instructions and schedule a follow-up appointment to ensure pain relief is achieved!
What ages are recommended for regenerative medicine therapy?
Currently, we are offering regenerative medicine therapy for adults, ages 18 and older.
Are there any risks associated with regenerative medicine?
Just like anything else, there are risks associated with the procedures. However, the risks are minimal and may include bleeding, pain, tissue injury, and minimal response to treatment. Please know that your safety is always our first priority! We ensure all products are sterile and use imaging guidance for all procedures to further minimize any risks.
Is Imaging required prior to my appointment for regenerative medicine therapy?
Yes! Imaging (e.g. X-rays, CT scans and MRIs) is important for the physicians to view and better understand the pain you’re experiencing around the bone, joint, muscles, ligaments and tendons.
Am I a candidate for regenerative medicine therapy even though I have had surgery and/or am planning to have surgery?
That’s a great question! Our physicians can discuss this with you and answer specific questions at your initial consultation! Our physicians will take your medical history, surgical history and any previous pain treatments into consideration before customizing the best treatment plan for you!
